The biggest Defence Officers’ Institute not only of India but also of its kind in Asia. The objective of DSOI is to provide Social and recreational facilities to the officers of the Defence Services, both serving and retired and their families and offer combined officers mess facilities to them.

(DSOI) Dhaula Kuan is the biggest Defence Officers’ Institute not only of India but also of its kind in Asia with a Membership base of about 12000 spread all over India and abroad.

This Institute has a long rich history. It was first set up at the National Stadium on 22 Oct 1949 as Defence Services Club with Field Marshal K M Cariappa as its first President, and then it was shifted to its present location at Dhaula Kuan on 05 Jan 1967.Located at Dhaula Kuan on NH 8 (Delhi Gurgaon Road). The Institute is a proprietary Institute of the Defence Services Officers Welfare Fund (DSOWF), an association not for profit registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (Punjab Amendment) Act 1957, as extended to the Union Territory of Delhi.
