The biggest Defence Officers’ Institute of its kind in Asia. The objective of DSOI is to provide Social and Recreational facilities to the serving and retired officers of the Defence Services and their families. It also provides a combined officers mess facility to them.

ABOUT DSOI Dhaula Kuan

DSOI, Dhaula Kuan is the biggest Defence Officers’ Institute  in Asia with a Membership base of more than 15000 spread all over India and abroad.

This Institute has a long rich history. It was first set up at the National Stadium on 22 Oct 1949 as Defence Services Club with Field Marshal K M Cariappa as its first President. It was shifted to its present location at Dhaula Kuan on 05 Jan 1967. The Institute is a proprietary Institute of the Defence Services Officers Welfare Fund (DSOWF), a  Not for Profit association registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (Punjab Amendment) Act 1957, as extended to the Union Territory of Delhi.

FACILITIES

DSOI, Dhaula Kuan extends all F&B and Sports services to the Reciprocal Members on payment of applicable charges. Services include Bar, Restaurant, Banquets, Sports etc.

  • Sports – DSOI extends all the sports facilities to Reciprocal Members on payment of charges as applicable.

  • F & B – The oldest of all the Bars in the Institute where members can have their drinks and snacks in a well maintained air-conditioned environment.

  • Banquets – The Institute has five seperate  Air-conditioned Party Rooms of different capacity offering Catering facilities where its Members can organize their private functions and get together.

The Club has implemented a state-of-the-art Contact less Cash/Debit card Automation system at DSOI, Dhaula kuan. The system is intended to encourage members to use the Institute’s facilities and replaces the traditional paper/ cash vouchers being used in many Clubs/ Institute’s alike.

The Library of Institute has approximately 5500 books of various categories to meet the varied requirements of the Members and their spouse and dependents . It also has a large number of reference books. Library also caters for 10 different types of Magazines/ Periodicals and 07 different types of Newspapers for the Reading Rooms.
